Is English Considered as the Universal Language?
So, before we get started, do you know what universal language means ? Picked from definition.net website, universal language itself means Universal language may refer to a hypothetical or historical language spoken and understood by all or most of the world's population. In some contexts, it refers to a means of communication said to be understood by all living things, beings, and objects alike. 

From my point of view, I do think that English is considered as the universal language. It is proved by this statistic of  the most spoken language in the world from year 1900 to 2020.

From the video and statistic above, we can all conclude that English has been the most spoken language from year of 2014 to 2020. I know that some of you will have questioned why English hasn't be the number one of the most spoken language all over the time from year 1900 to 2013 and who is the winner for the most spoken language in the world at that time? 

According to the video above, it is stated that China with it Mandarin language has been the number one most spoken language all over the world. It is because, the population of people in China has exceed to 1.39 billion. One of the reason why the population has exceed to 1.39 billion is because China is one of the most biggest country in the world. While the population of people on the countries that English as their native language are not even exceed 500 million people.

The total population for the countries as English as the native language is 424,193, million.

The main reason why English is at the second stage of the most spoken language in the world is because of the populations. But why suddenly on year 2014 to 2020  English started to became the number one of most spoken language in the world? It is because starting from year 2014, people around the world starting to realized the importance of English and started to learn English as their second language. 

Other than that, it is also proved that English is considered by Universal Language by analyzing this map.

This is proved that English is the most spoken second language in the world and I believes that learning English as our second language gives a lot of benefits to the learners. Let me share some benefits and importance on learning English to you.

As a student of language course on University of Cambridge, I feel grateful to god for giving me this golden opportunity on learning English as my second language. From the time being, I also realized that I had fell in love on learning English and I also doesn't have any regrets on learning English because it gives me a lot of benefits such as English helps me on communicating with the foreigners, helps me in improving my essays and the most important is it gives me new knowledge and experiences. In the nut shell, I hope that I had a chance to further my studies on English language in the future.
